Pharmacists, Head pharmacists stock batches inventory expiry

Stock Batches (pharmacy/pages/stock.php) manages inventory at the batch level — each batch tracks its own quantity remaining and expiry date, since the same drug often has multiple batches in stock at once with different expiry dates. Requires stock.adjust to add or modify batches.

Step-by-step: adding a new batch

Go to Stock Batches (optionally jump directly to a specific drug via "Add Batch").
Enter the quantity received and other batch details (batch number, expiry date, supplier).
Save — the new batch adds to that drug's total available stock.

Filtering

Use the filter options to view all stock, or narrow to specific views (e.g., low stock, expiring soon) as offered on the page.

check your dispensing process follows First-Expiry-First-Out; the system tracks expiry per batch but staff should be trained to prioritize soon-to-expire batches during dispensing.

cross-check against recent Stock Adjustments, which can add/remove quantity outside of normal dispensing.
