IPD: Admissions & Beds

IPD Admissions

IPD Admissions (ipd/pages/admissions.php) is where a patient is formally admitted as an inpatient. Requires the ipd_admissions permission both to view the page and to submit the admission form.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to IPD → Admissions → New Admission.
  2. Search and select the patient (must already exist in the patient registry).
  3. Enter admission date/time, admission type, and the admitting doctor.
  4. Set an expected discharge date (defaults to 7 days out — adjustable).
  5. Record presenting complaints, primary diagnosis, ICD-10 code, and reason for admission.
  6. If this is a de-addiction/substance use admission, check that box to reveal extra fields: primary substance, other substances, and a compliance/state profile.
  7. Assign a ward and bed.
  8. Save to complete the admission — the patient now appears in the IPD dashboard and bed management.

Common issues & fixes
