IPD Billing (Daily Charges)

IPD Charges (ipd/pages/ipd_billing.php) tracks the daily charges accruing during an inpatient admission — bed charges, procedures, medications, and other billable items — separate from the outpatient Billing module, though it uses the same underlying billing permissions (view_billing).

Step-by-step

  1. Go to IPD Charges for the admission.
  2. Review/add daily line items as they accrue (bed day charges, procedures, etc.).
  3. As discharge approaches, ensure all charges for the stay are captured before finalizing.
  4. Generate the final bill, printable via the dedicated IPD bill print view.

Common issues & fixes

requires view_billing.
review the daily charges log carefully before finalizing; retroactively adding charges after the patient leaves is harder to track down.
cross-check against IPD Reports & Export for a full breakdown of what was charged during the stay.
