Nurses, Admission staff, Admins ipd beds wards occupancy transfer

Bed Management (ipd/pages/bed_management.php) is a visual ward/bed occupancy board — drag a patient from one bed to another to transfer them, and see at a glance which beds are free, occupied, or reserved. Requires the ipd_admissions permission.

Step-by-step

Go to IPD → Bed Management.
View wards as columns/sections, with each bed shown as occupied (with patient name) or free.
Transfer a patient: drag their card from the current bed to a free bed in the same or a different ward, and confirm.
Use this view to quickly identify ward capacity before accepting a new admission.

Common issues & fixes

requires the ipd_admissions permission.

make sure you drop directly onto an empty bed slot; dropping outside a valid target cancels the action.

confirm the discharge was fully completed (see Discharge Process); the bed only frees up once discharge is finalized.
