The Staff Roster (ipd/pages/roster.php) auto-generates nursing shift schedules, supports AI-assisted customization, and lets you manage the roster manually where needed. Requires ipd_nursing_charts.

Shift patterns supported

  • 8-hour shifts: Morning (06:00–14:00), Afternoon (14:00–22:00), Evening (16:00–00:00), Night (22:00–06:00).
  • 12-hour shifts: Morning/Afternoon (07:00–19:00), Evening (12:00–00:00), Night (19:00–07:00).

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Staff Roster.
  2. Choose the shift duration pattern (8-hour or 12-hour) for the schedule period.
  3. Auto-generate a draft roster based on available staff and ward requirements.
  4. Use AI customization to adjust for specific constraints (e.g., staff preferences, minimum coverage) if offered.
  5. Manually edit individual shift assignments as needed.
  6. Publish/save the finalized roster.

Common issues & fixes

requires ipd_nursing_charts.
review and manually fill gaps before publishing; auto-generation is a starting draft, not guaranteed to be perfect.
confirm whether 8-hour or 12-hour pattern was selected, since each has different defined start/end times.
