Quality Control (QC)

Quality Control (lab/pages/qc.php) records QC runs performed against known control samples, tracked by level (low/normal/high) and lot number, tied to a specific test and (optionally) a specific instrument — the standard way labs verify their equipment/reagents are producing accurate results.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Quality Control.
  2. Select the test and, if applicable, the instrument used.
  3. Choose the QC level (low, normal, or high).
  4. Enter the lot number of the control material.
  5. Record the observed value and save.
  6. Review QC trends over time to catch drift before it affects patient results.

Common issues & fixes

investigate before running further patient samples on that instrument/test; this may indicate a calibration issue (see Instruments & Equipment Maintenance).
QC data is only meaningful if tied to the correct control lot; double-check before saving.
