Instruments & Equipment Maintenance

Lab technicians, Lab admins instruments maintenance calibration equipment hl7

Two pages manage lab analyzers/equipment:

Instruments (lab/pages/instruments.php) — the registry of lab analyzers/instruments, including their configuration for any interfacing (HL7/ASTM/CSV ingestion, if enabled).
Equipment Maintenance (lab/pages/maintenance.php) — logs maintenance activities: calibration, preventive maintenance, repair, or EQAS (External Quality Assurance Scheme) events.

Managing instruments

Go to Instruments.
Add/edit an instrument's details.
If instrument interfacing is enabled in Lab Settings, configure the connection details here.

Logging maintenance

Go to Equipment Maintenance.
Select the instrument, the maintenance type, when it was performed, and who performed it.
Save — this builds an auditable maintenance history per instrument, useful for accreditation review.

Common issues & fixes

check whether instrument interfacing is actually enabled and correctly configured; otherwise results need manual entry (see Result Entry).

periodically review the maintenance log per instrument to ensure calibration/preventive schedules are being kept.
