Reminders & Scheduled Follow-ups

Reminders (?page=reminders) lets staff schedule one-off or recurring reminders to patients — appointment reminders, medication check-ins, follow-up scale requests — sent through whichever channels are configured for the clinic (email, SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, portal).

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Reminders.
  2. Click Create Reminder.
  3. Select the patient, reminder type (e.g., appointment, medication, follow-up, self-report scale), and channel.
  4. Set the scheduled date/time and a title/message.
  5. Save — the reminder queues to send at the scheduled time via the chosen channel.
  6. Use the tabs/filters to view reminders by status (pending, sent, failed) and track counts.

Channel availability

Only channels currently configured in Settings appear as options. If a previously used channel is later disabled, any pending reminders still referencing it are automatically re-channeled to an available one so they don't silently fail.

Common issues & fixes

it needs to be configured (e.g., SMS/WhatsApp/email provider) in Settings first.
check the channel's configuration/credentials and the patient's contact details (correct phone/email) are valid.
recurring follow-ups typically need to be re-created per cycle unless the clinic has automation configured for that reminder type.
