External Prescriptions (pharmacy/pages/external_prescriptions.php) handles walk-in customers with a prescription written by a doctor outside the clinic — supporting both guest (non-registered) and registered patients, since not everyone filling a prescription here is an existing clinic patient.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to External Prescriptions.
  2. Create a new entry: patient details (search existing or enter as a guest), the prescribing doctor's name/details, and the prescribed medications.
  3. Verify the prescription (checking legitimacy/dosing as per your pharmacy's protocol).
  4. Dispense against it, tracking status (pending, verified, partially dispensed, fully dispensed).
  5. Print the external Rx record if needed.
