Understanding the Dashboard

The Dashboard (?page=dashboard) is the landing page after login and adapts entirely to your role and permissions — a billing clerk sees a finance-focused view, a psychiatrist sees clinical widgets, and an admin sees everything.

What doctors/clinicians see

  • Scope toggle: "Mine" vs "All" — doctor-like roles can switch between seeing only their own assigned patients/appointments or the whole clinic's (if permitted).
  • Core stats — patient counts, today's appointments, pending tasks.
  • Critical patients — a highlighted list of patients flagged as clinically critical, with a detail modal.
  • Today's schedule — the day's appointments at a glance.
  • Risk alerts — patients with recent high-risk assessment scores.
  • Unread portal messages — a quick count/link into patient portal conversations.

What admin/finance-only staff see

If an account has no clinical visibility permissions at all, the clinical half of the dashboard is skipped and the view goes straight to administrative/financial summaries.

Common issues & fixes

the account may lack any relevant permissions; check with an admin.
only shown for doctor-type roles; other roles see exactly what their permissions allow with no toggle.
"Mine" filters by assigned_doctor_id on patients/appointments; make sure patients are assigned to the correct doctor.
